Wonderd if anyone was using these in a plec tank set up?
thought they would be good to blow/pump dirts across the gravel to keep the bottom clean .

any views on these

cheers Rob.

Hi all,
I've been mucking about with a Koralia, there are some good thing about them particularly they give you a lot of water movement rather than a stream of fast moving water. However I still prefer a powerhead (and sponge), one reason for this is that you can put a sponge on, giving you extra filtration, which you can't do with a Koralia. I'm also really mean with my money and they are quite expensive. I'm going to carry on using Maxi-jets with DIY sponge "strainers":

Hi I have a Koralia Nano 900l/h in my planted 180l, mainly to remove deadspots that were causing algae growth. Great piece of kit but as mentioned a little on the expensive side. Think aqua-essentials were the cheapest when I was looking for one.

Hi all,
I've noticed 1 or 2 used Koralias (from break up of reef tanks?) come up fairly cheap on Ebay, so that maybe worth a look, as I believe that they last fairly well. The only downside to the one I've got was that it was a 2nd hand one, and entirely covered in dead coralline algae.

cheers Darrel

I have just gotten a couple of those to try out on my L204 and L203 (heavy poopers).
I like the high current with low wattage and I think I found them under 'wave makers' in a reef section online. I just bought the cheapest ones and they seem pretty good.
To date, no one has been silly enough to swim into the open end of one.
