Appearance: A light sandy colour body as with most Peckoltia spots and broken bar Patten across the upper body with 3 darker stripes across the lower body.
When a juvenile this fish has a 4th dark bar across the face that will become spotty.
Compatibility: As with all Peckoltia this fish will become territorial as it reaches sexual maturity males more so than females. Plenty of caves and hiding places are essential.
Best kept in small sexually balanced groups of 5 or more
Sexing and Breeding: Males have odontodes along the leading pectoral fin rays and the back half of the fish’s body. Females remain unadorned, wider across the body when viewed from above.
Diet: Omnivorous primarily eats meaty foods. Will take flake and most prepared foods need some meaty food like shrimp or insect lave. Not an effective algae eater. They will not damage most plants,
Water parameters: PH 5.8 - 7.8 Temp 22.0-26.0°C or 71.6-78.8°F
Rock piles and bogwood tangles. Like most Peckoltia this fish will spend most daylight hours hiding under stones, bog wood ECT with just its head poking out. Occasionally venturing out to graze on some food.
