Hey all,

I am very new to the whole L game, so please excuse my severe lack of knowledge, in fact I am very new tot ropical fish in general.

This Ancistrus is one of only two Pleco I own, the other being a L014 Sunshine. I brought it as a Bristlenose, but I was unaware that several types of Bristlenose Pleco are available and was wondering if this fish could be ID'ed to a specific species, rather than just a Bristlenose type?

It has grown a fair bit in it's 3 months in my tank and the Bristles have become very pronounced. Would I be right in saying this is a male? Or is this still in the region for females?

I hope image of of reasonable quality to offer some chance of identification.

Many thanks in advance.

The white markings can be variable and typically disappear with age/size. It's a characteristic that can be used to help id but not necessarily a primary characteristic.
