What is the cave made of ? Use a razor blade or brush and give it a good clean. I would boil it and leave it outside for a week, then soak it in clean tank water in a bucket for a couple of days. just to be safe. cheers jk

have you got a high pressure hose like a Kaercher ? I would still brush off as much as you can, then let it dry for a week and brush again. cheers jk

Also , my aq store told me vinegar can be use to disinfect objects. I has a prob yrs ago with a contagious illness and was concerned about cleaning the net for that tank ,and couldnt use bleach, obviously, so they told me to use vinegar, then good rinse till ya cant smell it anymoe. I did this with the net and no probs after. HTH

If you're really worried, just bleach it. Set it aside and rinse it several times, let it dry off and rinse it again. Should be good after that. Since it's plastic I wouldn't boil it.

Good luck, It looks like an interesting piece.

Vinegar and Iodised salt are both excellent non-toxic cleaners.

Back in the old days (I'm 27 by the way) before all the new fandangle products available now babies bottles and accessories were boiled with iodised salt. Even table salt is an excellent natural disinfectant....throw some in a sink full of water with a cos lettuce, watch all the dirty little bugs float to the surface :D
