Hey guys, Just wanted to get some second opinions on the ID of these L's. Im bad for second guessing myself, LOL.

Sorry for the crappy phone pics.

This is what I think.
1. 397
2. 397
3. 002
4. 002 (Received in a 397 breeding colony)

Any opinions would be very much appreciated.

I see what I think is at least a couple L002.
The first set of pics, all L397.
The second set, L397 (1st), L002 (2nd, with partial L397), L002 larger one, L397 other (3rd pic) & L002 largest, L397 others (4th pic).
The difference I usually use is the white banding on the fins between the black and orange for L397.

Hello,

to me fish 1-3 are L397. I was always under the impression that L397 had more white markins than normal L002. Also the head markings as well.
fish 4 baffles me, it is a dominant male and maybe an L002.
Wait and see what the others think as well. cheers jk

I been looking at a lot of pics of 002's and 397's last few days and I find the same with the white in the fins, As I noticed from the pics the adult 397's still keep the white in the fins and the big male (4) has no white at all but id never seen a 002 as big as this one which is what made me second guess it. The big male is about 10cm maybe tiny bit over, He was curling when i tried to measure.

Anything that breeds and one isn't the same as the other will produce a hybrid. If they are all the same then depending on the breed/L number I suppose you can have slight variations in patternation, they wont be a hybrid though.
