5ft Tank with Sump

Hello All,

I have a chance to buy a 5 x 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 tank with a sump.
Having never every in 25years of aqua culture used a sump before, can anybody advise me on the benefits etc for a sump ? I am hesitant as in my view if the pump fails, the room would be flooded ? any info or advice would be greatly appreciated ...cheers jk :thumbup:

sumps are very benificail as they add more water volume to your set up
large area for your bioballs, floss ETC.....
and is alot easyer to do W/C as you only need to redirect power head
hose out window or door......

some are noisy some arnt it all depends on how your input to sump
is made a spinning bar on top minimise noise big time but also filter floss, pads to muffle noise =]
