L114 ive had L600s and this looks nothing like one, the L600 is duller, the coloration of the head is different, Look them up photos in the gallery on here. The L600 is a much rarer pleco. It is a nice small L114 though :)

Its really tough to tell at this size but I tend to agree.
L600 typically holds an orangish/reddish band on the edge of the dorsal whereas L114 doesn't. You can clearly see that its going away already. The spotting is pretty uniform sized between the body & head, L600 has smaller and/or no spots on its head. It'll get easier as it grows into its adult coloration but the way its developing now it looks like L114.

The problem probably is that your fish is still young & the pics you're looking at are of adult fish. There is also the issue that L114 and L600 are so similar looking but L600 considered more desireable that people label L114 as L600 so they may charge more money. Finally there are just many that don't know the difference of that there is even a difference between the two so pics aren't labeled correctly.

Take a look at my avitar. That fish looked just like yours when I purchased it at about 2.5" (6cm).

I actually bought it as a 114 then was looking on it's needs and realised then was a 600 too. conflicting pictures etc and i came up with 600 but you have one and see the changes as they get older i have only had it a few weeks so im think i can be sure its a 114 was photos that confussed really like you said pictures could be labelled as wrong fish :) thank you very much

Its very hard to tell them apart at such a small size, the differences are a lot more obvious once they have grown on a bit.
Either way, its a pretty fish
