hi guys and girls

I am planning a 6ft pleco tank with cabnet. I am going to get the tank and cabnet custom made and want to keep bn's, zebras and rusty plec's together.

I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on the best dimentions for a tank to house pleco's only - whats the best width and depth?

I have done a quick sketch of the cabnet im thinking off. The only absolutes are the width. Also i want to be able to place a second tank that is 2ft x 18 x 12 inside the cabnet. It has my axoltl alfie in it, also i need to be able to put my external filter inside it. Lable a is for alfie and B is for the external filter.
Can you guys see any problems with it or have any suggestions in general?
Do you know anyone who does this kind of stuff?

thanks for all you time and hopefully help with the project.

Plan is good other than the stocking. BNs, Zebras & Rustys aren't the best tankmates. Zebras don't necessarily compete well with others food & are pretty timid compared to the others you mentioned, that's why most keep them in species only tanks (well that, the potential risk of losing them & the opportunity to breed them). Also, Zebras have different dietary requirements from the other two so that could be an issue as well.

For plecs, floor area is usually of utmost importance so the wider the better. If you're set on the width than next would be the length. Tank height (depth) is the least important dimension when dealing with plecs.
