thanks for that, I hope you are are right as she (from pair in yellow pic) looks even worse this morning! she has come out to feed and has lost even more stripes! however he is not on eggs as he is pottering around the tank too.
should I add any melafix or anything or will she be OK?

I use almond leaves and additional water changes her pattern will come back quite quick

Did anything ever come of this Zeb action you were having in the tank. Did they spawn? Did they stop fighting?
