Aquamedic Nitrate Reductor 400

Right, I've got my hand on one of these and thought it might do my panaque tank some good, but they look pretty complicated. Has anyone ever used one of these and whats the general opinion?

From looking at the german booklet i'm guessing it makes some kind of slime that eats nitrate, is that the gist of it?

I got one for free so even if its not the best i guess it worth a try.

Well you cant argue with it being free. Did it come with a dosing pump?

I havent even opened the box yet but i have seen a syringe and some tablet feed. Is that a dosing pump? Its brand new if thats any help.

From what Ive seen when I was looking into it they are a small box like thing. Although you might not need it on the NR400.

The idea is that they pump very small amounts (1-3lph) as to maintain the anaerobic conditions.
