bent bristles

hi guys.
is it normal for a male bristlenose to have bent bristles on his nose that are pointin in all different directions or should they all be pointing up and straight?

As they mature the bristles grow and the ends become forked.

yeap the older they get the more they have the longer they get

Forgot to say, in a tank with more than one male, sometimes only the dominant male will develop the forks.

i was going to say you shouldn't keep more than 1 male together in a small tank as they will fight

A lot of the ancistrus species can be quite aggresive and not just to conspecifics.
