Vegetables shoud be the main part of the diet, things like cucumber and zucchini/courgette, peas, beans and sweet poatao some fruits can also be used. Many vegetables will normally be accepted but some of the harder ones, like carrots, need to be blanched before using. Some of the softer one need to removed after 24 hours or they start breaking down and fouling the water. Don't feed Pleco wafers/tablets o a regular basis as these are for fish with an omnivore rather than herbivore diet.

hi,

also be careful, some pleco tabs and wafers have protein in them as well which will cause bloat. Read the lable when buying. Also peas soaked in garlic are good for bloat. cheers jk

Cheers doodles, checked out the link was very helpful. Got an excuse to put sweet potato on the shopping list now. I will also be adding more of a variation, trying not to get into a routine with the food choice. Thanks once again :)
