Hey, I've just been looking around on the site and read a thread on filtration that doodles put up and in it was mentioned bio wheels that could be retrofitted to canister filters. I'm not sure how this works but I would imagine the best way to do it would be to connect the output of your canister to a bio wheel so that the water ran through both. Any one seen or heard of such a modification?

Something like this is what im looking for:

http://badmanstropicalfish.com/products/product_pro.html

Id just connect my canister filter output to it and there should be no problems, provided the canister has a high enough output to spin the wheel right? And if so would there be any real improvement in the filtration system?

From my quick reading these seem to be discontinued and i havnt been able to find similar products from other manufacturers :(

Biowheels are only made by Marineland.
They offer the attachment as part of a kit but I'm not sure if they sell it seperately anymore. The effectiveness of the biowheel is a bit of question. According to Marineland its great, I personally feel its not as great as advertised though there probably would be some benfit and without any additional electrical outlay.
