Having had a quick look in this months PFK i noticed that in next months issue there is to be an article about brazilian L number exports. Some IBAMA guy says that L numbers have never really been legal and that brazil will be widening the list of allowed exports. Anyone heard any more about this?

More plecos is something we need. Brazil should legalize plecos so they don't have to build dams, same environmental damage, just in the hobby instead of a turbine.

I did read that IBAMA had released a new set of guidlines on the export quantitys such as stingrays to be released for the 2009 period but nothing on L#s the torpedo barbs export has been cut and certain gourami spp. and numerouse other spp of fish where Quote

it seems that with so many "banned" L numbers are getting through the back door, that maybe IBAMA could maintain more control if the bans were lifted but controlled properly.
will be watching closely, would be great to see variety like we used to
