Hello All,
I have in my 5ft set up 6 x L080, 6 x L129 and 1M2F LG6 royal whiptails, 9 cory adolfi and 1 Cory Agassisi. I wish to inform you of my observation of the blood fin tetra and LG6 fry. Before I got my blood fins, the LG6 bred at regular intervals and I was getting them up to stage 2weeks of fry stage. I could always see the fry swimming etc. As I was not target feeding, they perrished. Now my LG6 still spawn in this tank, but since I introduced the blood fin, I can see and have observed that they are very clever. They somehow know that the male is sitting on eggs and when the eggs turn dark ( so close to free swimming) the blood fins would congregate under the 50 egss or so and wait. Since then I have never seen a fry or one swimming around and have noticed that the blood fin is an extremely intelligent hunter of fry.
This has been my observation and when I get back from holiday I will have to remove my 12 blood fins and get credit from my LFS and go back to my beloved rummy noses.
This just FYI as a warning to others. Cheers jk
