hey everyone, ive got 3 panda corys.. 2 males and 1 female. they breed well, and give me 10 - 20 eggs per 2 weeks. my problem is caring for the eggs, and also the fact the males dont leave the poor female to do her stuff. first off though, most of the eggs get taken by fungus. they turn a white colour and dont do anything, and getting a fluff around them. my other problem is when they are breeding, both males get extremely exited and dont leave the female alone to lay the eggs. and help would be nice

The males are supposed to chase her while she lays her eggs. The fact that they are turning white would indicate they are not being fertilised. Are they in a tank by themselves?

The male must fertilize the eggs, as i recall he grabs them as she drops them. The bristlenose will eat any eggs they find so may be worth taking this into consideration, also id add to the group if possible as this will better the chance of fertilization.

iv been told 2male to a female is the best ratio

i would say get a egg tumbler as soon as all the running around is done remove the eggs place them in a tumbler then it should be fine!

good luck keep us informed!

2 males to 1 female would be a good ratio if there where still enough females to deter constant harassment, ie more than a trio is required.
