I recently purchased a small pleco from a LFS under the name "butterfly pleco".
Upon researching my new little guy, I didn't think he looked like the photos I had
seen online for his species. I know there are a lot of variances in color and whatnot, but I am now concerned my "butterfly pleco" is something else. I had picked him because of their relatively small size, and am scared I will have a monster on my hands if he turns out to be a different variety. I'm attaching a few photos that can hopefully be helpful to someone out there.
He's approximately 2.5" long and has an orangey color on the edges of his dorsal fin as well as his pectoral fins.
