Right here is the long awaited Cichlid Setup......
Its only took my dad about 3 months to complete lol....

The Tank was specially made to my dad's spec's...........
He built the hood and stand himself so pretty dam good really.....

He decided he wanted an aqaurium that looked like a Marine setup with coral rock...and the sandy bottom..............

It also has a huge fluval external filter running and a fluval 4 internal....

Anywayz enough talk here is the tank and lots of cichlids(mainly Malawi).

All photo's have been taken by myself but this setup belong's to my Dad so full credit goes to him lol as its took so long to establish..............

So there you go hope you like the setup and cichlid pic's........
Just to add here is my Dad's other setup Juwel 125 Aqaurium...

Cheers Everybody.......................

Some really nice fish in the malawi tank.......but I noticed they aint all malawi....

from experience I found that mixing the african fish caused massive problems and I ended up losing alot of fish due to aggressiveness. I would tell your dad just to keep a watchful eye. thing I found most was that because I had so much tufa rock the fish would just vanish....(I would think they had hidden) but only at a water change would I find out they had either been munched or swallowed whole lol.

I suppose alot of It was my fault for not having a better knowledge. and as my mind wandered when I went to the lfs I started making some really bad choices, like th clarias cat that ate £500 of fish. and the shovelnose that ate a shovel full of fish.

and then there was a venustus that just bullied the life out of everything.

I now find that keeping malawi, lake victoria & rift, tanganika are easier if they are kept in colonies.

I have a tank full of yellow labs (careleus)
colony of brichardi
2 colonies of multifasiatus

and I still have the clarias......who is now reaching 13/14 inches length.

Mbuna are by far the most aggressive, Tangs are better hands down B-)
Or if he likes the Aulonocaras he has then a Peacock species tank would be cool as well, as long as they have enough space/territories.
