just had a look at my clown plecs and one of the thin ones is in a hole in a rock which is just big enough for him and i have seen a bigger well fatter one near the opening of the "cave" i think i could have fry by the end of the month what do you guys think

SETUP:
sponge filter
clear seal tank about 45 liters
loads of caves and bogwood
no lighting at all apart from me with a torch to check on them
i do not feed them as they will not take anything but when they were in my top tank i kept putting veg in i do put the odd catfish wafer in but they just nibble

If you get the breeding bug i would be happy to swap a few fry at some point.
Fingers crossed for you
I use oak caves that are quite good for breeding some wood loving fish

Regards

Sounds promising but my very fat female Zeb has sat by the male's cave since July last year and he's still not let her in :wb: hope yours are better behaved :D

hopefully there will be a spawn soon, but dont get your hopes up too high, most adult clowns are proper little fatties, almost tadpole shaped so it may not be a gravid female sitting outside the cave.
best of luck with them, will keep my fingers crossed for you
