I would like to eventually get some corys for my main tank. I know that they like to be in groups of 6 or more but do they need to be all the same species? could I get, say, three groups of three for a total of nine? would they be happy in this mixed group?

some members do keep different types in one tank. It is similar to different tetras, they will eventually school together and feel safe. Just if I may say do some homework on the corys you wish to keep, as some do not tolerate higher temps some Ls needs. Also as a substrate for the corys i recomend sand or very fine gravel. cheers jk

I keep several specied together with no issues, they do tend to shoal together especially the similar marked species like agassizii, robustus and C141 :)
