NEW IN!! Indian Banana Leaves

In Europe dried banana leaves have been something of a professional secret among aquarium keepers up until now!!

The leaves of the banana plant (Musa sp. var. sapientum) have been successfully used in Asia for many many years. There, they have long been used by successful ornamental fish breeders, in the same way as tropical almond leaves to prevent and treat diseases such as for example:
Fungal diseases
Head and lateral line erosion in cichlids
Ectoparasites
Damage to mucous membranes
Bite injuries
Fin rot

20 x Leaves Pack £2.50

Will the leaves and cones help bring the ph down? Sorry for dumb quesion
Only slightly (banana leaves no) too bring the ph down and keep it down the Oak Extract we sell is very very effective in most cases only requiring a small amount after water changes, as with the almond leaves it also adds natural tanic acids to the water which soft water fish require. I use it in all our tanks great stuff for the more delicate S American wild imports

Hi, I'm thinking of getting banana leaves for my breeding tank. But in it I keep cherry shrimp so can't let the ph get too low as i already have bog wood bringing the ph to 6.4-6.8. after researching indian almond leaves they from what i've read they lower ph so no good but can't find much info on the banana leaves
