Hey guys,

With the set up of my 50L temperate white cloud mountain minnow species tank I've become very intrested in Cyprinids. For christmas I was given a Fluval Roma 125 and I was wondering what cyprinids you would recommend for this tank, namely ones that will be relitively easy to breed. My water is moderate hard and the only tank mates will be a pair of BNs. My plan is to condition the fish in this tank and then breed them in a seperate 18x10x10 or similar. So, any suggestions?
Also im looking for cyprinids for my 60L tank, though I'm 95% sure I'll be going with Cherry Barbs for this tank.

Thanks

Hi all,
Rosy Barbs (Puntius conchonius) are fairly easy and a good size. They are common but they are good community fish and colour up really well when adult.

I like Cherry Barbs for the smaller tank as well, but another relatively easy smaller one would be the Ruby Barb (Puntius nigrofasciatus).

cheers Darrel
