Hi,

wanted to ask if juwel silicone (left over from sticking backround) would be suitable to stick biorb feng shui pebbles together to create a cave??

Also does anyone know where I can get some cheap stones or anything that would be suitable to make a rock looking cave?

and... cheap aquarium safe silicone? (im in the UK)

many thanks!

I would think the silicone is fine for the feng shui pebbles. The cheapest place I can think for stones or pebbles is the beach if you have one near by. Also some lfs sell stones, pebbles fairly cheaply.

Im going to move this to aquarium and set up forum as it seems to be overlooked in DIY

I live right on the coast, lol about 15 metres away, is it safe to use stones off the beach in a pleco tank.

The stones would need to be cleaned, but how? Bleach / boiled, soaked etc. Is there a correct procedure for using stones off the beach in a Pleco tank.

Hi all,
Pretty well any water worn rounded pebbles/cobbles will be fine. They have been in the sea so long that any soluble salts will long ago have dissolved. With the exception of a few limestones and sandstones the pebbles won't have any salt inside them so a surface wash in cold water is fine.

Any really hard pebble with almost certainly be inert. In NE Scotland you should be able to find plenty of granite pebbles, like these, which would be ideal:
