hi guys and girls

was looking on some opinons.... i bought two weather loach as tropical fish from one store and then i bought two more weather loach from another store that would only sell them to me as cold water fish.... over a couple of weeks i acustomed them to tropical water conditions.

Do any of you guys or girls keep them as cold water fish and if so how do they behave?

Has anyone got any opinons on why they shouldnt be kept as tropical water fish?

They are supposed to be cold water fish. The highest temp i've found listed for them is 25c on Loaches online. What temp have you got them at?

Although an adaptable species, keeping them in artificially warm aquaria is definitely not recommended. Higher temperatures stress the fish and can shorten their lives.

Also, in warmer waters Weather Loaches are more susceptible to infections.

Thanks for the link and heads up- I keep the tank at twenty six but have just checked out all the profiles of the fish I have with them and they can all live at 24/25 which tomorrow I will lower the tank to. Here's to four happy and healthy loach. Cheers cole

Keep a very tight lid and cover all holes because they will get out given the slightest chance. They like to jump from what I've experienced with them. Luckily I found mine before it was too late.
