Not sure whether anyone will know but here goes...

I've bought an(second hand) Eheim 2222 canister filter, which came without any inlet outlet pipes(which u would expect).

My problem is this, bought some 12/16 eheim tubing which seems a little on the large side, and I cannot seem to get the clips to fit over the tubing and onto the inlet/outlet valve(double-tap).

However a couple of websites I've been on all say that 12/16mm is the right size. I've tried warming the hose up as to get it to be a bit plyable, but no go!!

Took the double tap to the lfs to see if i'd bought the wrong hose, but seems like the 9/12 is way too small.

Driving me nuts!!!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

hi,

it does seem to say on the web site you have the correct tubing.
My suggestion is to boil some water, stick the tub in and then try squeezing on the valves. What advice did the LFS give you ? cheers jk

dont burn yourself. Eheims do have a tight fit sometimes. Just have to find a good LFS then I presume  cheers jk

So, finally resolved the problem, without burning myself(lol).

Was trolling through ebay, looking @ all the eheim accessories and came across some Eheim jubilee clips, so went to the local auto spares shop bought some 10-16mm clips tightened them around the tube (really tightened) and hey presto!

All good no leaks tight seal. so now I've got a spare ezclip for a 2222, filter now in good working order and set up on my 125l tank. So once the filter is seeded properly I'll remove one of the internals so I have a spare

Thanks for your help Bigbird!!!
