Eheim gravel vac

Just wondering who here uses a eheim gravel vac?
I got one as an early brithday present and love it. cleaning the poo out of my barebottom tank is great lol.
I only got it early cause my fiancee had to take me as i get a discount lol

I used but didn't like it. It was good for poo but not good for excess food. I found that the food would seep back through the mesh and make that tanks filthy.
Just my experience tho

what type of food ? Mine does pretty good with sucking up algae wafers and sera viformo?
How long ago did you have yours cause i read a few negatives from people saying the same thing before i got mine which were quiet old,

the catched part of mine is like plastic so much doesnt get through

i'm interested in getting one of these just for spot cleaning the poo.....
We have a 260litre fluval vicenza 4' tank which is quite deep and although the official write up on this vac says it is fully submersible could you confirm it is so? finding it difficult to remove plec waste even on weekly water changes so thought this would be great?
