Feeding NLS to L134s

Hi all, I have some left over tubs of NLS Thera A and Cichlid formula, both are 1mm pellets. I was wondering if I can feed these to my 134s? I don't have any use for it and seeing as its a meaty base pellet I thought it might come in use and the 134s might actually like it. Only problem is the pellets are very tiny at 1mm and might get mixed up in the sand and not eaten.

What are your thoughts on feeding this and if its something they should go for?

Many thanks

NLS Cichlid formula

Hi there,

I feed my L134's and other L's and ALF BN's NLS Cichlid formula, 1mm size. They devour this along with Hikari carnivore pellets & Algae wafers. My tanks are bare bottom so I don't have the issue of food mixing with sand/gravel.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Thanks mate, Might give it ago tomorrow. How much do you think to give them? 4 adult size 134s. I tried feeding algae wafers and many other things but they don't seem to touch it for some reason. Don't know why, but they only seem to eat frozen bloodworms, no algae wafers or anything like that. Go in to check on them the next morning and the wafers look untouched. Any suggestions?

The L134 is an omnivore but it doesn't seem to like algae wafers

Hi there,

A pinch per adult is what portion I typically give my adult L134s. However you will need to monitor what quantity is not eaten and adjust your quantity accordingly.

Try mixing very small amounts of FBW with the NLS, slowly weaning to only NLS.

With the Hikari Algae wafers, I typically break them into quarter sizes so its easier for the L's to bite onto.

I hope this helps.

I feed mine NLS thera A 3mm pellets once a day and its all gone in the morning. They don't seem to like algae discs as much, but its always good to break it into halves and put a half each fish. Maybe try doing this at night after lights out, since they will most likely roam for food and come across the algae disc.

hope this helps

cheers

Thanks mate, I will see how they go although they don't really seem to eat any of it. feed the NLS but its so small its hard to see if they ate it or not. I even fed some cichlid pellets at 3mm this morning but that looks untouched as well. :D
