My vision 260 currently has a eheim 2215 and a hailea h12 external (rated for upto 260l)The eheim has just sponges and the floss on top,the hailea has noodles, balls, sponge and the floss. They both run spray bars.My problem is that theyre both just trickling and i'm sure they cant be doing a very good job.I have flushed and cleaned both(not at the same time)but it doesnt seem to help much. The eheim i have only had about 3 months and the hailea came with the tank about 8 months ago.Is there an optimum distance they should be from the inlet?Should the hoses be an optimum length? The eheim came with no instructions and the web instructions dont go into much detail. The hailea instructions are in badly translated english and practically unreadable and the website is totally japanese or something lol.Would it be practical to swap and move the media about?and would it help?Any advice gratefully recieved.

How long have you had the floss in both? Thats always a candidate for making filters slow down when they get clogged up. i remove mine after a few days

Hi its not easy to say but you must have a flow resriction/ blockage somewere.
As doodles suggested check the pipes
One trick I found was to put the outlet in a bucket at ground level and turn the pump on it this increased the flow enough to clear a blocked pipe that my eheim ecco had

The top of the filter should be as close as you can to the bottom of the tank, within 10cm. Do you back flush the filters?. YOu need to clean the pipes with a pipe brush and especially the taps and the bottom filtting on the filter. Mine always slow down. Its mostly caused by feeding zucchini I believe

Filters can go either way, as far as i know its gravitation that makes the filter filter water the right way. If you raise the outlet pipe higher and put the intake pipe lower, maybe so it takes all the debris into a bucket, then prime the filter it should go the other way, this would help remove anything that is trapped when the water flows the same way all the time.

If im wrong im sure someone will pull me up:D

i have always been amazed at how the pipes clog up. i mean how do particles settle and stick to the pipes when they have a constant flow???
