filter not powerful enough

hello,i have an aqua one 800 cannister filter but it is too small for my tank,it doesnt create enough current.i do have big airstones which are good.my question is,can i adapt a powerhead to the filter to make a better current or is there another way to go.the tank is a 4ft.the filter is newish so i dont want to buy another one just yet.

Just run a separate power head if you want current. You will need a bigger if you put a lot of fish in the tank.
