Guys

Finally got around to setting up the new tank for my 2x adult L46's.

The plan was to get some more and they are waiting for me so me being me came across a deal to good to pass up at the LFS for the tank seen here!

Now ive got a nice tank to add the additional zebras into! happy days.

The idea is just to have a shoal of cardinal tetras swimming as well. I picked up a load of, apparently, 'wild caught' ones- dubious as to whether they are any different but they do look brighter than ones i had.

any way here are a couple of shots- what do reckon?

critsicm is good- give it some.

I would like a bit of would but im thinking the thin branchy stuff that i cannot remember the name of? mopani?

i have an internal ario air pump thingy but by god does it vibrate on the tank!- so that is switched off at the moment. Will add something else a little later.

cheers for looking.

thanks,

there are a couple of caves already in there,

1x triangle tier in the back corner,

2x slate ones that have been added when i transferred them over. Althought they have been dumped in the front which ill probably move.

There are afew hidden in the rocks and i am hoping that they will take to the 2x rock caves that ive put in!.

I have thought about the shrimps but have heard that the cherry shrimp breed too much? is that true?

not sure if mopani wood is the stuff i am after. i looks too big and hefty.

I wanted some thin stringy stuff if you can picture it.

have come across this marsh wood that some people are now offering. Any one use it?

terrific. looks smart.
I have cherry shrimps in with my zebs and yes they are a bit of a nuisance as I have to keep thinning them out, but they also help to keep food and algae levels down I suppose. I also have some java fern tied on wood. this helps in 2 ways - first the plant helps to absorb nitrates, phosphates etc from the water, second is the shrimps cluster in it so to thin down the shimps i can gently lift it and put net under to catch them.
