i have a natural pond in my garden that has blossomed with a floating plant, it looks like loads of 4 leaf clovers . all single stem... i found it once in my lfs but it went crazy and they got rid of it befor i could snatch it from them,

my question is can i take this plant from my pond and put it in my aquarium?

thanks ev31

Hi all,
The answer is almost certainly yes, although you may find that the plant doesn't get enough light in the aquarium. Difficult to say from the description but Marsilea sounds likely (picture below), it isn't a true floater, but likes to grow emergent from shallow water.

thanks darrel but i managed to fnd out what it is. its duck weed!

Is it still a certainly yes to tranferring it?

i always tend to find weeds more beautiful...... a landscape garderer onece said 'weeds re just flowers/plants in the wrong place' and i agree :)

thanks people

thats what i was hoping - my tap water nitrate level is 35 so figured it would help reduce it!
