I have a 405 on my 240l (4ft) tank and a 305 on my 180l (3ft). The 405 copes well and doesnt slow down too much when the foams get dirty. I have 3 adult BN's 3 clown plecs, 16 juvie BN, 3 Juvie L134's and an ever increasing colony of cherry shrimps. So i guess the waste isnt massive, obviously the more load on the filter the more frequently it will need to be maintained. I find both filters easy to clean and prime. The Aquastop feature is also very handy and gives that positive lock peace of mind.

Having said that the 405 probably isnt man enough on its own for a 6 ft tank.

Regards

Darren
