Ive just had loads of baby sword tail fry born (in the last hour) in a net breader i noticed other fish were still able to eat them through the net. so i put a plastic fish bag to stop them getting to them. it only covers the bottom so the water can still circulate.

Might be a bit of a silly question but will a plastic fish bag be ok in the aquarium for a few weeks ?

or will it be safe to move the fry straight away to my other tank?

thanks

They should be fine in the breeder for a little while if need be. What's in the other tank?
What you need to do is be able to make sure they are feeding ok, if this is possible in the other tank and they are safe plus the water params are the same then i would move them.

Ive got a common pleco and a really aggressive angel fish in there at the mo, im getting another 120 litre tommorow anyways bought it on ebay for £10 ! lol and got a spare filter already cycled in the main tank as well so i reckon ill move them to the smaller tank tommorow.

thanks

Personally I'd just move them when possible. Never had problems with moving livebearer fry, even just dropped ones. No where near as delicate as hatched fry. If you can minimize the stress in moving, by say scooping them with water & not into a net, that should ease the move.
