glass or plastic tanks ?

hi folks im thinking of getting a bigger tank currently have a juwel vision 260,fancy a juwel vision 450 my lfs has some nice big tanks but are plastic rather than glass like the jewel,same kind of volume 400l+ seem quite a bit cheaper than the jewels, whats the differnence between glass and plastic please !

Glass - heavy, doesn't scratch as easier, has a green tinge unless you pay extra for Starphire glass

Acrylic (Plastic) - light, much more expensive, scratches easily, but can be easily polish out, does not have a tint

The only problem you're going to have with acrylic and plecos is that the plecos will scratch up the acrylic badly, especially panaques. If this is going to be a pleco tank go glass.

If you are keeping plecs in it, particularly any panaques then I wouldn't use acrylic tanks, their teeth will scratch it pretty badly as 2wheels says
