Has anyone had experience with C. hastaus?

In your opinion, how hardy are they, and how often do they swim above the bottom of the tank?

they do tent to be a mid water swimmer from what I have seen

I haven't had the pleasure of owning these but they are very active mid water swimmers, given the right conditions they should be as hardy as any other cory species, they don't appear difficult to spawn either. Lovely little corys :yes:

Great little cory that is not often seen. I have Haustatus and all you need is a small tank with Java moss and they breed on their own and don't eat their fry. I feed them baby brine shrimp and a bit of micro worms.
