Hatch out tank

So, I set up a 10 gallon tank to hatch out eggs from my L144 plecos. They don't like it when the kids live at home too long. So far just a sponge filter. I will add some caves and driftwood later on. Right now, I just want to get the cycle going, hence the algae wafer.

Can anyone think of anything I may have missed? Going to add a heater when I get one too. Later on down the line, I may replace the tank with a 20high along with one next to it. But need the funds first.

When ever you do a wc on the parent tank, pour that water into the new tank. Kicks the bio along a bit.
Good idea. Thank you.

add some seachem stability or something to boost the bacteria cycle aswell
I have an algae wafer in there for now to get the cycle going.

i would also add some gravel, but that is just my choice. Also a piece of driftwood. cheers jk
I find it easier to clean the tank when there is not any substrate. And I just tossed a couple of small pieces of DW in there, just need them to sink now.
