I have a 90 litre tanks (approx two and a half feet long) with some zebs in. I recently realised I was not getting the temp near 30 C that I wanted. the heater was a new 200w jewel set at max. so I added a second 200w older jewel also at max. bothe of these would come on when tank below 27 but would stop when got to 27!
So just bought a rena smart heater and removed the 2 jewel ones. it is happliy at 31 C now and its not turned up to max either.
anyone have similar probs?

well these have worked fine but dont get really hot (so useless for zeb breeding. In my big community trigon I bought a new jewel one too as knew the heater was 4 years old so might be vunerable. I like the fact they sit inside the filter housing so fish dont get burnt. Anyway the new jewel heater is fatter and does not fit in the housing any n more!! So it is in the tank not the filter housiing, I am waiting for a heater guard I have ordered but hey the BN has already burnt himself!

I just noticed that my fluval heater was changing temp whenever it wanted so I binned it and got a eheim jager. Very good heater and temp is very stable
