:hi:Hello to all members of Plecoplanet. I have kept fish, tropical & cold freshwater, since setting up my first tank, with help from my father, in 1951!! I was aged 5 years.

I have kept many species over the intervening years. Most have been rare & unusual. They were back in the late sixties, in Derby. To mention them here would be wrong.

I have recently purchased five superb Planiloricaria cryptodon. I am having difficulty in gaining information on this species.
I hope this is the correct site for discussion concerning them? If so, more info re: their biotope is available. Thanks for admission to this forum.

Kind Regards, Peter Johnson.

Amazon basin including Ucatal, Purus, and Mamore river drainings , inhabits sandy substrates in the main stream of large rivers, probably a lip brooder. Hope you can find more info , cool looking fish !

Thanks for the response. When I learn how to, I'll put a few images on the forum to show my Amazon biotope. Everything in it is from that great system. Kind Regards.
