Hello Everyone. I hoping someone can help me. I have a plec and I have had it for about 4 years. Im not sure whether it is male or female or what type it is. I think i have managed to get a pic on here. We think it is an albino Hi Fin?? I want to rehome him as we have to leave are current accommodation but really dont want to flush him down the loo. So any help on re-homing would be really helpful

Thank you

Lucy

Hi there Lucylou and welcome :)
Im sure you will have no worry in rehomeing your fish simply bag it up and take it to your local fish shop im sure if you siad you had to close the tank down as your moving they would take it off your hands

I hope you're not serious about flushing him down the loo??? Very uncool to suggest that as a way of disposing of any fish

No i wasnt serious about flushing him down loo. I been searching on the web for ages to find a site like this to try re home him. The only fish place i have near me are Pets @ home but they crap. Lots of dead fish in there tanks. Plec was tiny when we got him but he has grown so much, I want to try re home him as he lovely but we going into emergency accomodation and cant take it ( He/she is also out growing its 4ft tank lol. I also really worried about transporting it as I have nothing to transport it in. We rescued him when he about 2 inches big from our neighbour. He was going to empty his tank on the grass with the fish n plec in it (

A part from that he is free to a good home

Hi lucy as for transporting the fish your local pets at home store would give you a bad if you asked them, and they would also be a good place to hand the fish over as a last resort. seeing dead fish in there tanks isnt a good sign your right, but as they are getting fish from abroad it may be likey that they have a poor seller and the fish arrive in a bad state, while as your fish will be very healthy and the journey to and from your home to the pet shop isnt very far at all.

Aquarist Classifieds is a alright place to post fish if not there is a classifieds section on here you could try

welocme, yes pets at home are not the best of fish shops, have you looked at teh fish shop directory on PFK site for any shops near you?
