Help I.D my new pleco!

Purchased my little guy Dragoon about a week ago from my lfs. Labeled as Whiptail Pleco.
Also purchased driftwood and various plants. I was in the market for a smaller species because I wanted to put him in my new 30 gallon. I received dragoon under the impression he won't out grow the tank. (FINGERS CROSSED)
Will he become to large for the 30 and does he require anything special?
Currently this is the best picture I have. He's always hiding and when he's not he's hardly visible due to vegetation and/or he's shy.
Also if you don't know what he is could you suggest a book or a website I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi all,
It looks to be quite an unusual fish. It is some-where near Hemiloricaria sp. (or similar).

I haven't kept them, but I think they like an open-ended "cave" (bamboo?) to rest in during the day.

Have a look at Hemiloricaria beni.
