Hi,

My pleco looks like it has fin rot or a fungal infection I'm not sure?

My water levels are

Nitrate - 0ppm
Ammonia - 0ppm
pH - 7.5

I do water 40% water changes every 3-5 days

Also my clown loaches are looking rather white as I know they can often be affected.

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks, Dan

now my honest opinion. You have an african tank set up, with loaches and plecos. This in the long term will not go well. I never mix continents for fish, as African rift lake fish need harder water etc and South Americans soft acidic. What other fish do you have in the tank ? Looks more like fighting scars, like somebody has been rasping on the scales than fin rot. I would however go ASAP to your LFS and get something against the fin rot just in case. cheers jk

Thanks for your response :)

I have a white mbuna which was rather territorial to other fish which makes me think it was him who nipping him. Since I've noticed it I have gave him away, even though he was a beautiful fish :( my plec does look like he's in the mend now though which has put me at ease.

Thanks, Dan
