Do you have any pics of the underside of the fish, if it was to be bloat it looks likr the early stages, however a pleco becoming 'fat' could have several meanings and causes.

It could be parasites, so do you worm them?
It could be bloat which can be caused by too much proteins, an ammonia spike in the water or internal parasites. So whats the diet?
Or it could be constipated, so have you seen it poo? If not it needs a almost 'laxative' for plecs which is deshelled blanched peas etc etc.

Pure clean water is crucial if any of these cases do exist
Or it could be just fat, but i would rather be safe than sorry.

Hope this helped keep us updated:)
Good luck!

I'm sure there are a lot of people that want to help you but by that pic it's not possible you will need to explain what you have seen to think that it's bloat I know trophies are fish that get bloat from poor food very easy so that's why you might think your l has bloat but for any help I thi k we need to know what was mentioned above
Is it eating?
How is the water?
Hav you seen it poo?
Is it floating up on its side then swimming away?
Is it bigger that 6-7 cm older than 2 yrs old? (female)

My 333s eat to the point of exploding so I need to watch how much food(nls) I throw in the tank
Please dot take fish out of water again or even try catching it again a these guys will stress out and then you will have a problem

If you just bought the fish you need to wait a day or two don't feed only peas till you see it poo it might just be a female

Good luck and keep us updated!

Hello Guys
Thanks for the comments and appreciate the advice

Tank water had ammonia levels a little high. (between 0.5-1). I changed the water last night with 50% and now the water is back to normal.

In the tank, he acts normal. (i have not been able to watch him closely enough to say he has pooped though)

Diet wise i have them in a tank with tetras and RCS so they eat shrimp food, 3mm NLS pellets and also Hikari algae disks.

He is between 5-6cm and im not sure on the sex. I googled online last night and find the pictures of other 134s to be pretty fat as well. (not sure if this is a normal thing or if its a female)

I have it in a tank with 6 other 134s and the others seem to be acting normal aswell. He doesnt float on his side and nor do the other ones. I should have got a pic of his belly but as PlecoMM said i dont want to stress the fella out.

In terms of worming, what do i need to do and where do i get it from?
I have metro on hand as i own trophs however not much else in terms of meds.

Cheers guys,
Dave

Okay, 134 usually as they mature tend to plump up as they go, from the naked eye can you spot any discharge from its bum? What i would personally do is keep up with the water changes for at least a week keep a healthy and maintained diet watching the amounts given.

The internal parasites could also be a cause they can come about internally from the time you got the little fella or developed in the tank due to poorly conditions etc.

You can use somethig called big-l its actually designed for sheep and cattle worming you can have a look i get mine inline from petnvetdirect.com

But play it by ear for this week see the progress or step backs he/she makes and keep us updated. Sounds like your doing everythig correct just keep on the water:)

Hope this helps:)
Keep updating us:)

I would stop the algae wafers for a few weeks, these have been known to cause bloat. try some cooked peas with the skin removed instead.
