One male, one female and one I wasnt sure on.
Sexing of L270 tends to be the opposite of other species.
Your pointy snout one is a male. The more rounder square type nose is female. Had me tricked for a while with mine too.
One of my males

My only near adult female

If it was say L066 I would swear the first pic of mine was female and the second a male.

Thanks for your reply Brenda. So in my 2nd pic titled 'L270 Pleco Pics 9', you think the big one in the middle is a male (because of the pointy snout), the one on the right is the female and the smallest one on the left you aren't sure of, is that right?

Hello Luke,

Yup that is correct. Just out of curiosity, did you photograph these out of the water ? If yes be careful as the hairs will stick to the fish which makes identification harder, thats all. cheers jk

Ok thanks bigbird. Some of my pics were out of the water and the ones with the red background are in the water. So you mean that the fibres off the towel could stick to the ones out of the water?
