Tank size, filter, exact list of inhabitants etc and water test readings would help Craig  but it sounds like its probably water quality from the mini cycle like you say. Personally lots of small water changes to dilute that ammonia and maybe getting some mature media from someone to help if thats possible?

Sorry to hear you're losing fish

oh dear, yes i would do quite a big water change, and then daily smaller changes for a while.
keep close eye on fish and if any look poorly try some pimafix in case there is some infection that might spread.

oh dear, well persevere. if you change a lot of water then yes some tank water may help. if you alos get bucktes of water ready for changing and stand for 24 hours, then heat some so can have up to temp when adding it. hubby often asks is this hot water for coffee or for the fish lol.

You really need to monitor the parameters including the PH. Have you got any test kits?

If you have any ammonia or nitrite then try using some prime as it detoxifies both
