Hi all,

These are 8-9cms, approx 2.5 yrs old. Do I need a current to breed these? Can you help me to sex them please.

Hi
I have never spawned L134.
My guess is you have 2 or 3 femails and 1 def male
From talking to the L134 breeders i have been told a soft water and a drop in temp along with a fast water flow across the cave are about all that is needed.

Regards Bob

Hi,

Not too much of a current is needed, I would say you have 3 females ready to pop and 1 male. Lots of caves and hidding spots. Soft water, do 30% water change 4days in a row and drop temp by 2-4C. Some water flowing in front of the caves. Good luck and keep us informed. cheers jk

L134's

Thanks for the advice Bob. I should have mentioned that I have 7 fish in my colony, ie different fish in both photos. My guess is that I have 1 male in each photo - what does everyone think?

If you have no fights i would say you have more femails than males L134 is a bugger for fighting males amd femails tend to scrap
I have had a fish striped to the bone at the back.

Yes possible male in the middle on the second picture, deffo 1 male and looks like 3 females in the first pic :D

My water is hard and high ph but my L134 are back off spawning again after a 7 month break with an Eheim aquaball internal filter pointed across the front of their caves and an external filter with spraybar at the back

Good luck with yours
