HELP with L128 blue phantom

hi guys my mate has been looking after a couple of fish for me while my tanks settles hes had my L128 Blue phantom for about 2 months now and i got a phone call sunday to say its turned yellow. :dk: last night he took a pic of it and here it is

he said its still moving about and its not dead but i can honstly say ive never seen this before:cry:

My first thoughts are the water conditions the fish is being kept in...Can you get any details as to the parameters of your mate's tank water? ie: ph/no2/no3/kh/gh. This may shed some light on whats going on.

i wont be able to get them till 2moro but i no he doesnt do water changes often so i did think this myself plus his lights on from when he gets up on a morning 8am ish ? til he goes to bed probs around 10pm

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think on what you are saying the fish would be better off with you..You would then have total control over the water management.

totally understand mate what you mean but i had to restart my tank up so im only near the end of my cycle so dont want to mess it up im going to get him to do a good water change 2day anyway and see how things go

Looks bacterial to me. I've had something similar a couple of times. For me, it responded to a treatment of Maracyn & Maracyn II.

i was talking to me mate last nite and he hasnt done a water changes for a few weeks. He has a 2ft tank but its only got the blue phantom a L204 flash and a red fin shark in thats all but ive give him some esha 2000 to put in and told him to do a big W/C
