Hi all

I need some help with my eheim 2028 pro 2 filter. It has developed a small leak. The Motörhead appears to be filling water which then feeds out of one corners of the filter. After speaking to one of my local shops, we have come to the conclusion that the "O" ring on the primer has gone and needs replacing. After searching all day online. It appears that eheim stopped making the part as they didn't want anyone replacing it and that if the part went you should send it to them to be replaced under the warranty. That's great, if the filter isn't 7 years old. So has anyone on here ever replaced the o ring themselves? If so, which parts did they use? Was it hard work? Or if anyone has any links to online instructions on how to change it that would also be really helpful. An new Motörhead is £125! And it seems such as shame, as the filter only cost £130 7 years ago with all media!

All help or suggestions will be great fully revived.
Cheers
Darryl

I have the same filter and had a similar leak a few years ago. I checked the main gasket and couldn't find any problems. I even removed it and put it back 180 degrees. Still the water appeared to leak from the same area, which made me think it was not the o-ring/gasket. Posting around the web people convinced me it was the main gasket. I replaced it and all is well.
