Hey Guys, I am new to the forum. I found this group trying to help my wife treat her fish, found to be infected with Camallanus worms. The infection seems to be mild; only seeing one red thread in a few of the plecos. We followed the directions posted by Bre, but each time, within 24hrs, the water turns cloudy and the fish start gasping for air at the surface. Note: we removed the carbon from the filter, as typically done when medicating. Should we be leaving the carbon in? We haven't been able to treat longer than 24hrs. For fear of losing the fish we do a water change and put in a carbon filter; within moments the fish return to normal.
Come someone please give us some advice?
