Hi everyone,

I've had an L397 for about 6months since I got a bit carried away at an auction (i think this might actually be one of brengun's fish). Great looking fish, we call him/her disco stu. I think it's actually a she since reading on here. She's been in my discus grow out tank (i have a breeding pair of cobalt discus) and she has devoured the wood in there turning the walls of the aquarium brown in between each water change (every couple of days). Amazing. So I got sick of that and now I'm wondering what to do with her. Have put a for sale on my usual forum but I've been also thinking that I could dedicate a tank to her and find her a partner.

Anyway I hope to not be too annoying with the no doubt million questions I'll have.

Cheers,

Sean

Hi and :welcome:.
It really depends on what you wish to do. Get a seperate tank and get a male and then try breeding or sell her ? The choice is really yours. The wood eaters do produce different waste, but with a good cleaning program and water changes you can very easily monitor this. Good luck with your choice cheers jk

That sounds encouraging. What size is sexable? Budget currently doesn't have a line item for Lnumbers so ill be foregoing coffee to finance :) I'll therefore be looking for fry as young as possible. I should probably just put up a wtb ad.

That def looks like a female to me. The lack of hair and pointed nose tells me its a she. Really nice fish. Brengun always has great quility fish :)
