Hi, Firstly I would just like to say hi to everyone.
I have a Leopard Frog Plec (L134).
Unfortunately the reason I have found you is because he is not very well.
A couple of nights ago I noticed a brown patch on the back of his head which on further examination tonight has grown to cover all the back of his head. I can now also see what looks like a slimy mucus on the patch. The rest of his body seems unaffected at the moment. I was hoping someone maybe able to shed some light on what the problem could be and the best way to treat it.
My water parameters are

PH 7.5
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
nitrate 5 ppm
Water temp 25
Sorry my first post has to be one for help.

Regards

Phil.

Hi There Phil Welcome to Pleco Planet :D

About your 134 could do with knowing tankmates what other fish are in the tank, any other plecos in there? Is your heater glass coverd with a plastic gaurd to stop fish getting burns? Like Brengun says you would be better posting a thread in the Pleco Chat or Health issues section on the forum

hello and welcome.
could be heater burn, watch out for it turning red , or other sign of infection.
maybe get some pimafix and melafix in just in case you need some safe meds.
